Labor Day in Louisville Part 2: LVL1 Hackerspace

While I was in Louisville hanging out with Jeff Hipsher and Chuch, Jeff’s friend (and the Catch Up web master) Nick Sturtzel took us by LVL1, a hackerspace in Louisville.

LVL1 is in a warehouse district by downtown Louisville. The entrance is in an alley.

Anyone can go to LVL1, tinker with tech, and make things; but what makes it really special is that the members pool funds to purchase special maker equipment, such as this laser cutter:

Nick offered to cut one of my drawings out and mail it to me. What should I get cut out?

The GCPM at A Very Portland Christmas in Louisville KY

This upcoming Saturday the Gold County Paper Mill will be selling our wares at A Very Portland Christmas from 1pm to 8pm. This event is hosted by Nelligan Hall, which is at 2010 Portland Avenue, Louisville KY. I’m mailing some copies of my comics Froghead Hangover, TRANZ, Masks, and two color ATTACKS posters. In addition we’ll have a new GCPM Presents 2 DVD, compiled by Dr. Chuch; two of Jak Cardini’s poetry chapbooks, Jak Cardini Achieves the Narratological Singularity and There Is a Mars; and the collaborative comic/poetry Cardini Brothers joint Impossible Objects.

And finally, we’ll be selling tshirts that Sarah Cassidy and Jak Cardini screenprinted with some of my drawings and the Catch Up drawing I posted on Tuesday, here are some pictures:

Catch Up: Louisville

This past week I finally finished drawing the first edition of Catch Up: Louisville.

Catch Up, a Gold County Paper Mill presentation, is the brainchild of Jak Cardini. Each issue will feature the combination of a poem and a drawing by a different writer/artist pair.

Comics Now Available at Ultra Pop! in Louisville, KY

The illustrious Jak Cardini has just dropped off some Gold County Paper Mill comics at Ultra Pop! in Louisville Kentucky, located at 1414 Bardstown Road.

Now Louisvillains can check out Hyperbox #1-3 and Masks, written and drawn by yours truly, and Impossible Objects #1 with text by Jak Cardini and drawings by myself. Ultra Pop! is an awesome store and I’m glad that we’re in there. When I went there with Jak this past summer I got several issues of Epic Illustrated, a Howard Chaykin graphic novel, some Moebius alubms, and a dope-ass Mnwka shirt. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by there!

Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to become a fan of The Gold County Paper Mill on Facebook.
